The Pitch

What?

Turnkey Retrofit is designed as a service-oriented model where the homeowner is offered tailor-made solutions based on his/her specific preferences, covering energy improvements on:

Building envelope
The building envelope
Hot water systems
Hot water systems
Energy equipement
Energy equipment (Heating, cooling, ventilation)
Renewable energies
Renewable energies when relevant (e.g. Photovoltaic, solar, thermal, etc.)
Integrated packages
Integrated packages covering several of the above in a holistic / integrated way

Apart from the improvement on energy efficiency, Turnkey Retrofit will also consider other aspects that can arise on and be combined with the building renovation process, such as accessibility, home improvement, potential flexibility (Demand-Response assets) and modernisation.

The process will be holistically-planned, optimising the value chain by minimising efficiency losses, miscommunication issues and avoiding lock-in effects.

The Turnkey Retrofit service integrates two existing French services: HEERO and Operene, targeted at single-family and multi-family housing renovation respectively. Both these integrated services are industry-driven and currently operated without public subsidies.

Their business model will serve as the primary inspiration model for the Turnkey Retrofit service, improved and further developed in France, then replicated in Ireland and Spain by taking into account the local contexts (understanding the market structure, the main players and roles, etc.).

It will be operational during the lifetime of the project and beyond thanks to a dedicated plan to ensure its sustainable and efficient exploitation, replication and uptake by the private sector without the need of public subsidies other than incorporating the grants, tax relief and credits in the financial model that are already available in each country.

EP (operator of HEERO) is committed to become the private operator of the integrated service resulting from project.

For the replication in Ireland and Spain, ANERR and IGBC will ensure the coordination / interface with existing local actors respectively, which will be involved in a dedicated Local Implementation Group (LIG).
